as a christmas gift for their most valuable customers, sony pictures' international television division wanted to create a retrospective of their studio's contributions to entertainment, all the way back to the early days of columbia pictures. on the strength of my design and in-person pitch, we won the contract–but it meant a massive project management undertaking, and less than 5 weeks to produce 120+ pages of content. in the end, though, the book was a success and the client's customers enjoyed a very unique gift.

12stone needed some unusual outdoor and special printing solutions for their "puzzled by the bible" series of messages, leading up to easter. they had me adapt their series branding to a billboard that seemed to have pieces missing, and to a die-cut leave behind that used the jigsaw motif as a central element.

as the lead designer for the hit cbs comedy the king of queens starting with season 7, i also lead effort to produce a memorable package for the complete series anthology. the concept we produced was doug's delivery truck, and his cargo was all 9 seasons in the form of shipping boxes on a wooden palette. i consulted closely with the manufacturer to produce a piece that would be economical to make, but meet our creative needs. in the end, our truck had a hood that opened to reveal an episode guide (designed to look like a road-atlas), a rear door that slid up, complete with leather handle, and a wooden palette to hold all the boxes in place.

it was a huge creative and logistical task, but one that was hugely satisfying to see through to completion. the finished design was recognized by amazon.com as one of the best dvd packages of the year, and by the dvd critics association as the #1 best dvd package of 2008.

jas worldwide, a global shipping company, needed a comprehensive design for their global meeting, conducted every 3 years. this coincided with the grand opening of their new corporate headquarters in atlanta. consulted with jas to determine strategic elements to design, including motion graphics for one of the largest holopro displays in the world, and a 2 minute keynote video describing the history and future vision of the company.

ghost rider provided a great opportunity to design a memorable blu-ray experience. i illustrated these photorealistic renderings for the animators on my team to create a flythrough chase scene that would match the look of the film.

tasked with creating the entire domestic campaign for rent by sony pictures was a massive undertaking. we produced over a hundred variations of the key art, guided decision makers to the final piece, and built a complete set of collateral pieces around it. we developed several outdoor solutions, customized to the buildings on which they were applied. we avoided the legal issues sony theatrical had run into regarding the use of the broadway art and logo, while retaining the brand equity audiences recognized as being uniquely rent.

role: creative direction, design team, finishing

this work was so well received that sony approached us to design the home entertainment campaign for rent: filmed live on broadway several years later.

produced the campaign for facing the giants, one of the most profitable films ever released by sony pictures. the theatrical campaign helped a film made for under $200k in georgia gross over $11 million domestically, and even more in home entertainment. the title treatment i designed was also used to help market sony's follow up, fireproof.role: creative direction, design team, finishing (produced while creative director at fluent, inc.)</description>
